Close your eyes and open up. Ears that is
Decided to do my first post about MUSIC of course. Most people that know me know that I listen to a very wide range of music. Most ask me where do I find it at, and the answer to that is the same way you find your keys if you can't find them. LOOK! I'm always on itunes to find out what is new and I do discover artist I never heard before from pandora. However thats not what I'm here to discuss, my main point in this post is the lack of openness that people have for hearing new music. For example, my favorite metal band is Disturbed but are people and by people I mean black people open to listen to metal? Of course that a rhetoric question but why do I like it? Well to the guitar is my favorite instrument so I'm always down to hear that, also believe or not they not worshipping the devil in their songs. *gasp* I know thats weird right? Anyway they actually have love songs, most metal bands talk mainly about love. I know they some fucking posers! Most people are just afraid to listen to different music because its ummm white, yea thats the word I'm looking for. Yea I don't know what that means music is music, there is only a barrier if you create one. So next time that song you never heard comes on your pandora and you don't recognize the band let it rock and give it shot. Right now my favorite genre next to Hip-Hop is def electronic I'll probably do a seperate post about that. As I end this post here is a list of artist to check out if you have a shot, and none of them are black. Passion Pit, Phoenix, Lo-Fi-Fnk, Empire Of The Sun, Justice (Yes they have more songs then D.A.N.C.E.) LCD Soundsystem, Kings Of Leon, Lady GaGa, Owl City, Maroon 5, Panic At Disco (kill yourself if you never heard them), Junior Boys, La Roux, Pnau, Naomi, Peter Bjorn and John, The Fray and Cold Play (I'm sure we all know Viva La Vida but believe it or not they made more than one song) And a lot of these are your favorite Hip-Hop artist favorite Artist.
